Attorney John Caravella

JOHN CARAVELLA

John Caravella is a construction attorney having offices located in Southampton and Melville, New York. He is admitted to practice in all state courts in both New York and Florida. He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association Real Property Committee and the Nassau County Bar Association Construction Law Committee. He is also a member of the American Institute of Architects, Long Island Chapter, the United States Green Building Counsel – Long Island Chapter, and has recently been appointed as a Neutral to the Construction Industry by the American Arbitration Association.

A native Long Islander, Mr. Caravella began his exposure to the construction industry during High School by developing a deep appreciation for architecture, design, and construction. These early experiences provided a smooth transition to his continued study of architecture, earning his Associate of Construction Technology from the State University of New York at Farmingdale (1991), as well as receiving his B.S. Architectural Technology (1994) from the New York Institute of Technology. He then worked for, and trained under, well respected architects from Manhattan to Southampton for over a decade. These varying project types provided exposure to high-end design and construction methods, as well as the legal complications that arise in complex construction projects.

Today his legal experience is based on a decade working on real estate and construction litigation matters from both commercial and residential projects. Assisting architects, owners, contractors and sub contractors with AIA agreements, arbitration claims, as well as providing the lien, bonding, and contract claims expertise as required for litigation. For Owners, defenses to foreclosure actions as well as mortgage modification services are provided. Mr. Caravella has experience presenting multi-million dollar claims before the New York Supreme Court, and has been interviewed by the Long Island Business News on construction issues.

John Caravella maintains an ‘open door’ office policy, always providing free no-obligation telephone conferences to discuss your legal concern, or to see how this office might best be able to provide assistance.
